A repeated folded unit becomes a lightweight system of surfaces and openings.

Material as a question
A single folded strip establishes the grammar of this illustrative system. Changing its spacing creates a gradient from enclosure to openness without introducing new component types.
Assembly logic
The study separates the repeatable unit from the exceptions at corners and edges. These exceptions are often where a promising pattern becomes a difficult object to make.
